My name is Anne-Marie (Luana) and I am a Foundation Stage and KS1 Teacher and a Forest School Leader.
I am a local resident and a parent. My 5 years old daugther attends a local school and I have taught at the Archway Children Centre for over 10 years.
I have been running Forest School learning for over two years and have worked with an outdoor nursery in Queen's Wood.
I started my career in childcare and education many years ago, working my way up from being a nanny, a childcare assistant, to a nursery nurse and then in 2006 gaining Qualified Teacher Status.
In 2012 I trained as a Forest School Leader with the Bridgwater College.
From my experience in a variety of settings and working with many children and parents throughout the years, I've gained valuable knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop and how they can be helped to achieve their best.
I have worked with children with a variety of additional needs, ranging from behaviour difficulties to speech and language delay and autism, ensuring their inclusion and integration in the mainstream setting.
Setting up The North London Forest School Nursery has been a long standing ambition, born from the desire to offer young children the best early learning experience and from the dissppointment of seeing many early years settings failing to provide the children with an exciting learning experience in their most important years.
Both as a parent and a teacher I have learnt that young children get lost in large settings with far too many children thrown in together and far too few adults to offer the close support and attention needed for the children to become prepared for life long learning and achievement.
At Forest School learning outdoors will provide the children with a stress free environment, in a small group within a small ratio.
The adults will truly come to know each individual child's strengths, interests and needs and will be taking the children on an exciting learning journey.
